Ten less tubes but you can have everything else without compromises (including 2-3 TTS++ and 3xJJ). And those 15 extra tubes or 10+2xTTS+++ really make a difference.Īs I see it a King Crab LRM boat is way superior to a 60 tube Stalker. With some extra armor now I can play a bit more aggresively (faster). Over 200 missions without any structural damage, although I had to be very careful. My 14.5t armor is with that equipment, I used 11.5t armor for a long time, with no rear armor at all, 75 tubes and no TTS in two mechs. That's the kind of armor I may use in a brawler against other assaults. I also don't have issues with ammo, only time I had was one story mission and when I try to clear the entire map with just two LRM boats, in which case I resort to kill turrets and/or buildings with some energy weapon from other mechs.ġ440 armor (18t) imo it's quite overkill for a pure LRM boat which you'll try to keep in a very safe position all the time and protected by the shorter range mechs from the fast opfor cavalry. That's not particularly useful for a traditional LRM boat (although the +20% damage after jumping would at least be interesting, if you don't mind the heat buildup), but would be something, and particularly useful for an SRM brawler version of the Catapult.Ĭlick to expand.I have 6t ammo using a Highlander, enough for 10 rounds like with most of my builds. For instance, someone mentioned giving the Catapult the Phoenix Hawk's quirk due to it's good jump jets. They don't even have to be equally good, just different. Rather than worrying about new quirks for everyone, just new quirks for a few of the most directly obsoleted chassis.

On the other hand, why would you pick a Catapult over an Archer now? Or a Cicada over an assassin (not that anyone ever picked Cicadas anyway)? Or a ballistic Jagermech over a Rifleman? And the Cyclops-Z/Raven/Hatchetman essentially already have quirks, they just aren't called that. A Grasshopper is fine as is none of the new mechs really fills its niche.

If they were going to think about quirks for existing mechs, it might make sense to focus on the ones that are in most direct competition with the new chassis.
